30 days of photos - Day 7: Capture the season

Spring!!

Day 7 - Capture the season

30 days of photos - Day 6: Inspired by a poem

I cheated today... its not really a poem. Allt he poems i know are kinda sad or deep and I'm not particularly feeling in a sad or deep mood.

I love this story by Dr Suess and I think about it every time i put ZJ's shoes on. I wanted to get a pic of him in his shoes but he left early today to go adventuring at the zoo (Thanks Jody!) and is finishing off his trip by staying over at his aunt and uncles tonight (Thanks again guys!) so it was a no go for today.

Anyway, without further ado..

Day 6 - inspired by a poem

Oh! The Places You’ll Go!
by the incomparable Dr. Seuss

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.

You’ll look up and down streets. Look’em over with care. About some you will say, “I don’t choose to go there.” With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet, you’re too smart to go down a not-so-good street.

And you may not find any you’ll want to go down. In that case, of course, you’ll head straight out of town. It’s opener there in the wide open air.

Out there things can happen and frequently do to people as brainy and footsy as you.

And when things start to happen, don’t worry. Don’t stew. Just go right along. You’ll start happening too.

Nin·ja
[nin-juh]
Definition: A 'loot ninja', AKA 'ninja looter' or simply 'ninja', is a player who takes loot to which he or she is not entitled. The act is referred to as ninja looting or ninjaing. The term predates World of Warcraft and originated with the notion of looting as quickly as possible. The common synonym for this behavior is greeder, though that term has ironically fairer play connotations specific to WoW.

Behold!:
The Computer Ninja
The computer ninja
What you didn't see was him pull his little chair up to the babyjail, climb onto it, then onto its arm to push himself OVER the babyjail and onto Simon's desk.

The Bed Ninja

Dont worry that pillow didn't stay there, i just chucked it there because we moved our warmth away from her head and i didn't want her to wake up :P

30 days of photos - Day 4: Changed me for life

Zander Joshua Peterson. Otherwise known as ZJ, The Zeej, Z Monster and Thing 1.

Day four - Changed me for life

I was at a crossroads when ZJ was conceived. My marriage had just ended, I was seeing my childhood sweetheart, albeit not very often as he lived in another city and our relationship despite knowing each other intimately since we were 13, was 'new'.

Really, life could of gone many ways at this point. I might of moved cities to be with Simon instead of him moving here. Maybe got a different job. We might of never got there without that push. Hell, I might of even gotten back together with Aaron, or moved to New Orleans ..as unlikely as those options may of been.

Getting pregnant though, was not on the list. Not that I didn't want children, I desperately wanted children, but I honestly didn't think it would be on the cards for some time - mostly because i always assumed it would take either a crap load of fertility treatment (a path I didn't want to tread) or adopt (which of course meant a more stable home & life). After 7 years worth of gynecologists and endocrinologists, your everyday GP or three, and more tests than you can shake a stick at all pointedly telling me that under no uncertain terms will I conceive naturally, I had gone ahead and believed that. Even when i went to my GP and told him my suspiscions he looked at me like i was on some strange drug induced trip and said 'I doubt that very much...but we will do a test' (which, by the way, was negative :P I didn't get a positive until two days later).

Getting pregnant - It threw me for six. I didn't really even believe it until the 7th month or so and I would wake up almost everyday and look down at this growing belly in the shower and have a panic attack and wonder how the hell I got there.

So ZJ and his arrival, he changed me for life. Seeing his little face and touching his tiny fingers as he punched his fists into the air, that changed me for life.
He altered my path dramatically.

30 days of photos - Day 3: Happiness

Happiness is...

Day three - Happiness

Cuddling in a warm bed with him. My child's face when he learns something new. My baby's tiny fingers and teeny weeny toes. Chocolate, wine gums and spicy food (not necessarily together). Crisp autumn mornings and sunny spring evenings. Yellow flowers and honeysuckles. Us.

30 days of photos - Day 2: Inside my bag

Day two - Inside my bag

This is my fairly new [albeit second hand, thanks Beena!] bag and I LOVE IT. So far its not too full of crap and odd bits of paper and stuff but its getting there!

Its kind of a no brainier but I never go anywhere without my phone and wallet. my bag usually has an assortment of odd earrings in it, as when i go out wearing them i always take them off before i get home again (kids, you know?). You will find my car littered with them too, maybe the partners to the odd ones perhaps :P My engagement ring is in there too, as I don't tend to wear it at home but feel naked without it in public. There is always generally a nappy each for Zander and Evie in there, along with a tiny tube of benpanthen cream and a sample pack of wipes. Theres usually about 10 pens in there and a hundred hair ties - none of which I can find when I desperately need them.

I have a schoolbook which I try take places with me but its not in there yet. I also have an old classic ipod which I want to start using again but has been sitting on my desk since Zander was born.
