The waiting game

I'm waiting.

This is me around 38 weeks with ZJ.


I have no desire to take any pictures of me basically naked with this pregnancy. Its cold, I can't be bothered seeing myself in the mirror, let alone the computer screen.

I don't look a whole lot different - maybe a bit smaller though actually. 

I walk around in my boyfriend's jerseys and tee shirts that can't fit all the way over my belly. I live in a pink boob tube that Anita gave me when i was pregnant with ZJ - it makes for perfect wearing under those tees that just don't fit no more.

I thought it would be better this time. Knowing that I actually HAVE A SOLID DATE and all.. But really, the last few weeks are still a horrible wait!

I'm ready for this baby to be born. Even though I'm terrified of labouring again with the whole uterus rupture fun, I probably wouldn't be too upset too much if the baby decided to become before the planned date and I had to rush in for an emergency C section. I'm tired and sore. Probably not as tired and sore as I'm going to be in 3 weeks but the grass is always greener eh?

Two weeks to go, yo!





Not the greatest pics... I didn't really get them how I wanted them but I figured I would share them anyway as I don't have much proof of this pregnancy!

I screwed up the exposure etc bad and I'm just so out of practice doing self portraits. Ended up grabbing Simon to click the button once I had it all set up as I just couldn't be bothered hauling my huge weight, wrapped in a unruly sheet, backwards and forwards before the self timer went off.

Starting 'em early...

I didn't realise how much is missed taking pictures of my little guy. And he is a little GUY now, not a baby anymore. When did this happen!?

A love list

Its been a while... The love list thing AND the blogging thing.

I've been feeling a bit down about alot of stuff and total exhaustion was starting to take its toll this morning. Things always seem 100 times worse when you are dog tired.

I got sent to the bedroom to lay down and watch Castle reruns until I fell asleep. Ended up sleeping the entire afternoon!

So, without further ado, a love list.



♥ Pulling all the couch cushions onto the floor, dog piling with the boys and watching crap TV
♥ Baby giggles
♥ That lock of curl on the left side of ZJ's head
♥ Pancakes on Saturday mornings (courtesy of Julian)
♥ Being organised and ready to go
♥ Quiet time with a milo, some bikkies and photos to edit
♥ Watching my cheeky monkey explore, engage and get excited

The "Baby Space".

My due date community on LJ are posting pics of their nurseries and 'baby spaces'. Compared to the others this is so freaking bland and boring...but I'm loving our bedroom and 'baby space' in the afternoon light and I was busy processing photos anyway...so hey, pictures! ;)



The cot is a hand me down teethed on distressed beauty from my brother (as ZJ is still in his one) and the duvet and cot border is a Peter Rabbit hand me down from my partner's sister in law.

While Evie is little we will probably use the bottom half of the cot as a changing station. We did have a change table (aother hand me down from Simon's sister in law) but to be honest we usually always changed ZJ on the bed or on the floor of the lounge.. so it was pointless. What you can't see in the pics is the Safe-T-Sleep under the duvet and the hundreds of swaddle blankets and nappies at the bottom of the cot :)

P.S Sorry about the AWOL-ness lately! its been a busy and stressful month.

Beautiful nieces

It was my niece Heidi's second birthday today... Which involved lots of cupcakes (with dinosaurs on top!!!), party food and good company - which is pretty much what the doctor ordered for us. Its been a crap few weeks and it was nice just to chill and watch the kiddos run around with food on their faces.

I also let my brother loose with my camera. Here are a few pics he took, and i processed in Lightroom, of my beautiful wee nieces.

Little boys like to eat dirt and rocks

I have been dying to share these pictures from a client shoot a month or two back, but since the pictures were for a birthday present surprise, I didn't want to upload them to the internet just in case the birthday boy came across them somehow.

This was a fun and easy wee shoot, Zach got a bit sick of staying put and looking at a camera when all he wanted to do was little boy things such as eat rocks & dirt/explore/get the car keys etc etc but otherwise is was lots of fun.
